Article Ideas: Maui, Moloka’i, Lana’i

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Several of us attended the Maui Travel & Tourism meeting for writers here in Portland and also in Seattle this past week. We met suntanned and smiling folks from the Hawaiian islands including Kalani Nakoa from Ka’anapali Beach Hotel on Maui; Kathleen Costello representing villas, guest quarters, restaurants, and events in five Wailea properties near Wailea, Maui; Julie-Ann Bicoy representing things to see and do on nearby Moloka’i and Lana’i; and others who can assist freelance writers with ideas, photos, and resources.  Discover a plethora of ideas for pitching articles on everything from historic gardens, horseback riding, golf, and new eco tourism projects to family travel, outdoor adventures, swap meets, farmers markets, great restaurants, and romantic inns;  browse  the Maui visitor site and start developing those great story ideas.  Also, let us know if you’re able to obtain assignments and have an article published.  We’ll post your successes on our Travel + Words Blog so that other freelancers can be inspired.  Aloha!
